In partnership with Epic Excursions, we offer custom experiences—from private island dining experiences to custom boat tours—that invite you to explore like a local and savor every moment.

We are Kristi and Ian Balding, the dedicated husband-and-wife team behind Epic Stays. Experienced Superhosts with a growing portfolio of our own properties, we bring a personal touch to every guest experience.
As property owners and investors ourselves, we bring firsthand experience to everything we do. Having owned and managed an Airbnb, we understand the ins and outs of the system—allowing us to optimize bookings and increase revenue. Our mission is simple: to help fellow property owners maximize their return on investment.
Kristi is a licensed real estate professional with a background in corporate sales and a passion for hospitality. As a seasoned traveler and FORA Travel Advisor, she specializes in helping others plan unforgettable vacations with home rentals and excursions- pairing unique stays with meaninful experiences.
Ian brings a background in design, remodeling, and custom building, with early experience at Balding Brothers and later launching his own line of handcrafted surf and paddleboards. He designed and built both their personal home and Airbnb property.
In 2017, Ian and Kristi co-founded Epic Excursions, becoming the first of their kind to bring unique, curated experiences on the water and islands of Wrightsville Beach—sharing their love of adventure and the coastal lifestyle. Building on that same passion, they expanded their vision with Epic Stays to offer one-of-a-kind vacation rentals that go beyond the stay.
